Message from the Dean

Thank you for visiting our website! If you would like to explore offerings in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS) in more detail, I would love to have the opportunity to meet with you to answer your questions.

Our college offers degrees in Art, Criminology, English, History, Humanities and Social Sciences, Media Communication, Music, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, and Spanish. We also have a wide range of minors to enhance any major program of study.

The CHASS Mission: We offer students opportunities to become ethical, socially responsible, engaged learners, who are prepared to assume leadership in a dynamic global context.

The CHASS Vision: We encourage lifelong learning and partnerships with the communities we serve. We aspire to develop individuals who contribute to enhancing a diverse, global society by offering courses and experiences that develop the aesthetic, creative, critical, and theoretical sense of our students.

If you need information about any of our programs or if you need help getting advised for classes—even if you are undecided about your major—do not hesitate to contact me. I'd be happy to get you connected with a department chair, faculty member or advisor who can provide you with further assistance. We look forward to welcoming you to our CHASS community!

- Leticia L. Steffen, Dean
